چکیده
Antibiotics as additives in animal feedstuffs are forbidden in many countries in the world, but they are still abused. A micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography method was performed at 25 C and 30 kV (under pressure 15 mbar) using 25 mmol dm phosphate buffer (pH = 8.0) containing 70 mmol dm sodium dodecysulfate (SDS) and 10 % (volume fraction) methanol as the background electrolyte for separation and determination of amoxicillin, ampicillin, sulfamethoxazole, and sulfacetamide. UV detection was set at 210 nm. The method was validated and antibiotics were quantitatively determined as additives in spiked animal feedstuffs. Results were compared with a new HPLC method for the evaluation of four antibiotics in real samples. Both developed methods can be used for routine analysis of amoxicillin, ampicillin, sulfamethoxazole, and sulfacetamide as additives in animal feedstuffs.

Determination of prednisolone acetate, sulfacetamide and phenylefrine in local pharmaceutical preparations by micellar electrokinetic chromatography.
A new, rapid and simple method is described and applied to resolve and quantify mixtures of prednisolone acetate, sulfacetamide and phenylefrine. The determination was accomplished by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MEKC) using a fused silica capillary (57 cm x 75 microm ID). The separation was carried out at 25 degrees C and 30 kV, using a 5 mM phosphate-5 mM borate buffer ad...
متن کاملUse of Temperature-controlled Ionic Liquid-assisted Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction Method for the Detection of Amoxicillin, Cloxacillin and Erythromycin Residues in Cow Milk using High Performance Liquid Chromatography
Background and Objectives: Different types of antibiotics are used indiscriminately in animal husbandry for the growth and treatment of livestock, which cause accumulation of antibiotic residues in livestock products such as milk. Long-term consumption of milk contaminated with antibiotic residues above the permissible limits is harmful to human health, causing antibiotic resistance problems. T...
متن کاملApplication of capillary electrophoresis to the simultaneous determination and stability study of four extensively used penicillin derivatives
The applicability of capillary electrophoresis for the analysis of four extensively used penicillin derivatives (benzylpenicillin, ampicillin, amoxicillin, oxacilllin) has been studied. Because of structural similarities, the electrophoretic behavior of these derivatives is very similar; consequently an efficient separation using the conventional capillary zone electrophoresis is hard to be ach...
متن کاملDetermination of the herbicide metribuzin and its major conversion products in soil by micellar electrokinetic chromatography.
In this paper, a multiresidue method for the analysis in soils of metribuzin (M) and its major conversion products, deaminometribuzin (DA), diketometribuzin (DK) and deaminodiketometribuzin (DADK) is developed. Considering the neutral and charged nature of the molecules, micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) is a very efficient method for the separation of these compounds, providing hig...
متن کاملMicellar Electrokinetic Capillary Chromatography of 1,4-Benzodiazepine Derivates and their Degradation Products
The aim of this work is to elaborate a fast and reliable capillary electrophoresis method, for the separation of 1,4-benzodiazepine (BZD) derivates and their degradation products in acidic medium and in UV light. Because BZDs are neutral, hydrophobic compounds, the most efficient method proved to be micellar elektrokinetic capillary chromatography (MECC). For the separation we used a sodium tet...
